[World Vision] (English 日本語) Christmas Presents for My Child In Ethiopia
私は、ワールドビジョンジャパンのチャイルドスポンサーシップで、エチオピアに住む9歳の女の子のスポンサーをしています。その子に2ヶ月ほど前にクリスマスプレゼントと手紙を送りました。(*****の部分は、伏字です。）
I am participating in World Vision Child Sponsorship and my child is 9 years old girl living in Ethiopia. About 2 month ago, I sent Christmas present and letter to her. (the part ***** is filter, related to personal information).

Dear T*****
Merry Christmas and Happy birthday! How are you doing these days? ********** In Catholic church, Advent of this year starts on November 28th. I'm looking forward to it very much.
With this letter, I send Christmas presents to you and your siblings, and birthday presents to you. January 7th is Christmas in Ethiopia, and December ** is your 9th birthday, isn't it? The Christmas presents are a small desk calendar, six sheets of stickers, and a Christmas card.
The desk calendar is a lunar age calendar of 2011. I am afraid that this calendar is different from Ethiopian calendar. Anyway, you can display it and learn from it about waxing and waning of the moon. I think a World Vision staff tells you how to read this calendar, if you ask about. The letters on the Christmas card are saying "Merry Christmas" in various languages. "Buon Natale" is Italy; "Feliz Navidad" is Spanish; "Merry Christmas" is English; "Frohe Weihnachten" is Germany; "Joyeux Noel" is French; and "メリークリスマス", the handwritten text which I wrote is Japanese.
I have enclosed a birthday card for you, and an accessory as a birthday present. And I have enclosed a ruler too. It is a present from World Vision Japan. World Vision Japan gives it to all children who have sponsors in Japan. You can wear the accessory anywhere you want (for example, on your schoolbag), as pictured below. And can you see the English words on the accessory, "JESUS CHRIST", "Son of God", and "SAVIOUR"? I hope you remember these words. Please ask someone who knows
both English and Ethiopian what these words mean.************
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. I hope you tell me more about you. You don't have to be very polite to me. Feel free to write what you think.

この定規は、他のスポンサーの方が書いたブログを検索してみたりすると、同じものが載っていたりするんですよ（^-^)
カラフルで楽しく、薄くて郵便で送りやすいプレゼントということで、チャイルドの誕生日の２～３ヶ月前くらいにスポンサーに配布されているみたいです。あと、バースデーカードも一緒に届くんですが、私はワールドビジョンに貰ったものではなくオリジナルのを送りました。
エチオピアの暦と西暦は半年くらい？ずれていて、西暦の1月7日くらいがエチオピアではクリスマスになるそうです。私も、スポンサー暦まだ一年半くらいなので、一年前のクリスマスの時に始めて知りました～。

ReplyDeleteせっかくだからチャイルドに送った手紙の文章もブログに載せてみることにしました、が、プライバシーにかかわる部分をカットしたので、なんだかプレゼントの解説ばかりになってしまいました・・・（'-'；；；
ちなみに、最後のあたりの文章は、いつも向こうの事務所からはテンプレートっぽい文章が返ってくるので、なんとかもっとフリーダムに書いてほしいと思って苦肉のアピールです。ｗｗ
